Presentation of nature and decay exhibition

stairs edit before and after and work in progress.

This photo is going to be used for my school brochure and I chose because it has strong diagonal lines. Because the photo consists of solid shapes with the stairs I decided to cut out parts of the photo and duplicate them onto a new layer and move them around the image to make it look more abstract. I then added a hue/saturation effect to give a slight pop art effect which I think will make the school brochure more interesting and attract the audience's attention. Finally I increased the brightness on the whole image because it looked a bit dull to start with.

School brochure badminton before and after and work in progress

This photo is for my school brochure to promote Thomas Adams. Because it has a factual purpose I didn't edit it with any fancy effects. I heightened the brightness/contrast of the photo to make it more appealing to look at and also used the spot healing brush tool to remove the black strip of net that covers one of the student's faces, I then repeated this along the net in parts so it looks more realistic. The subject of this image is the badminton bat that's focused at the front of the image.

Break-time at school before and after and work in progress

I am using this photo for my school brochure. The photo was originally quite dull so I heightened the brightness and saturation to make it more appealing to the eye and make the school look nicer. The grey sidewalk also had some visible marks on it so I used to the spot-healing brush to get rid of them, I didn't want to make any major changes to this image because it has a factual/informative purpose.

Art classroom before and after and work in progress

This photo is for my school brochure and because I didn't want to strongly edit it I instead decided to change it to a circle shape which makes it more abstract and appealing to the eye. I did increase the brightness slightly so it didn't look dull but I thought more subtle effects would suit this image best because it's purpose is to inform people about the Thomas Adams school brochure format.

Bath for photo essay before and after and work in progress

This is a photo for my photo essay about my brother. I chose this image because bath-time is a part of my brother's routine that's always the same. I didn't want to over-edit this photo a lot because it has a factual purpose so I only chose to crop the photo so it looks more professional and brighten it slightly. There is no one subject to this photo but I think it has an abstract effect because of the layout of the toys and also shows my brother's unique characteristics as most 12 year olds wouldn't have a bath toy collection like this which makes it interesting to the audience.

train track for photo essay before and after and work in progress

This image is for my photo essay and I cropped it slightly so it fits more with the rule of thirds. I didn't want to do much to the photo because it is for a photo essay on my brother so editing it too much would prevent it from being factual looking enough to fit in with the subject. For this reason I just made the image brighter and added a few subtle light leaks to the background.

Bed for photo essay before and after and work in progress

I will be using this photo for my photo essay and the aim of this photo is for people to see what my brother's bedroom looks like and I want it to have a warm, cosy feel. I achieved this by heightening the brightness so it looks warmer and also added a few light leaks on the wall so it's more interesting. I also changed the colour balance so that it was more blue which I think improved my image.
